Educational Programs 2011-2012
Postgraduate Education & Training Series
The Postgraduate Education & Training Series provides an in-depth and ongoing study of Bowen family systems theory. This program is for postgraduate individuals of all professional backgrounds interested in learning how family and organizational emotional systems function. Participants represent a wide diversity of fields including behavior health, medicine, education, pastoral care, business and organizational settings. In this Series trainees study, learn and apply major theoretical concepts in their personal and professional lives. Essential to the study of Bowen theory is learning the facts of one’s own family and observing one’s functioning in important relationships. Toward that end trainees participate in class discussion, present in small group and individual consultation, attend the Heartland and Open Classroom conferences and are responsible for a presentation and formal paper at the end of the year. The format for the monthly classes includes lectures, video tapes, discussion, and consultation. The Series begins in September and ends in early June. Informaton and application may be requested by emailing the KC Center at info@kcfamilysystems.org
